WORKSHOPS
St Andrews, Scotland Dates:
11th - 13th June 2010
Venue:
Hall of Residence St Andrews University
Annual Residential Seminar of Scotland
Location
The Annual Seminar is held in St Andrews, which is on the east coast of Scotland, about 90 minutes north of Edinburgh. It is a historic university town with a wonderful beach and it is one of the University Halls of Residence where participants stay for the weekend. All the meals are included and are vegetarian with any special diets catered for.
Attendees
There are generally about 150 delegates and approximately three invited tutors.
The delegates are a mix of teachers, student teachers, foundation course students and interested yogis and yoginis, so quite a broad range of experience. The vast majority will be Yoga Scotland members but the Seminar attracts a number of non-members and offers membership as part of the delegate ‘package’. Each participant is provided with a programme for the weekend and they then choose which sessions they wish to attend. Some people will choose to stay with one tutor all weekend to experience the essence of their teaching while others wish to attend all the tutors.
Duration
The seminar officially starts on Friday evening following dinner, about 7pm. The seminar ends on Sunday with a concluding prayer and farewells from 4pm followed by afternoon tea.
Transport
Although the seminar doesn’t start officially until 7pm, most people start to arrive at the halls of residence from about 2pm onwards.
