WHAT ARE CLASSES LIKE?

Amanda’s classes usually begin with breath awareness and gentle warming-up exercises. These are followed by Sun Salutations and dynamic ‘vinyasa flow’ sequences. Classes finish with relaxation and meditative practices.
 
An important aspect to Amanda’s teaching style is to find creative ways towards greater ease in movement and natural alignment. These include exercises and inquiries deriving from her background in dance and study of Body-Mind Centering® principles.
 
VENUES

Tuesday classes are held in the new studio at the Academy which has a beautiful wooden floor and soft lighting.  It isn’t necessary to be a member to join these classes as Amanda works independently from the Academy. There are directions to the Academy from their website which can be accessed from the links page.
 
Wednesday classes, which include Beginners, take place in a small studio in the centre of Harrogate. Numbers are limited to seven people which ensure that Beginners receive individual attention as they learn basic principles of Yoga.
 
COURSES

Amanda runs her classes as courses, not drop in classes. This is so that students can progress in a class with others at a similar level and because Amanda wishes to know her students – their personalities, abilities and any health problems, so that she can teach in a safe and personal way.

Beginners Introduction to Yoga - April course FULL - bookings being taken for September

Venue: York Place Harrogate HG1 5RH

Dates: Wednesdays
April 28th- June 23rd
No class June 2nd

Times: 6.30 - 8.00pm

Cost: £84

The Beginners course is limited to eight people so you will receive individual attention whilst learning the basics of Yoga. Classes begin with bringing awareness to the body and breath through gentle warm-ups. These are followed by the practice of Sun Salutations - flowing sequences incorporating asanas (postures) which are dynamic and challenging. Classes finish with relaxation.

When you have an understanding of the basics and a reasonable level of fitness you can move on to Level 1 which takes place at the Academy. (no need to be a member)

Wear stretchy, non-restrictive clothing which is not too baggy. Avoid eating for 2 hours before coming to class. Mats and blankets are provided.


Chill Out Yoga - Level 1 - NOW FULL - bookings being taken for the Summer

Venue: The Academy (The Gallery Room) Oakdale Place HG1 2LA

Dates: Tuesday evenings:
January 5th - March 23rd
No class February 16th

Times: 6.15 - 7.35pm

Cost: £88

Intermediate level - you need some experience of yoga to attend this class.

Please bring a yoga mat and a blanket. Avoid eating for 2 hours beforehand.

NB It is not necessary to be a member of the Academy to join this class


Chill Out Yoga - Level 1 - NOW FULL - bookings being taken for the Summer

Venue: York Place, Harrogate

Dates: Wednesdays:
January 6th - March 24th
No class February 17th

Times: 3.00 - 4.30pm

Cost: £132

This is a gentle class and is less physically challenging than the Level 1 Tuesday evening class. 11 classes in groups with limited numbers which means Amanda is able to give you personal attention.


Chill Out Yoga - Level 2 - NOW FULL bookings being taken for the Summer

No class February 16th

Times: 7.45 - 9:05pm

Cost: £88

This an Advanced class for experienced practitioners of Yoga.

Please bring a yoga mat and a blanket. Avoid eating for 2 hours beforehand.

NB It is not necessary to be a member of the Academy to join this class


Chill Out Yoga - Level 2 - NOW FULL - bookings being taken for Summer course

Venue: 31 York Place Harrogate HG1 5RH
Wednesday mornings

Dates: January 6th - March 23rd
No class February 17th

Times: 10.30am - 12.00pm

Cost: £132

This class is for experienced practitioners of yoga, however the group is limited to 8 students so modifications can be offered for individual needs.


PREGNANCY

The classes on Wednesdays are suitable for Mums-to-be between 3 and 7 months in their pregnancy.


CORPORATE YOGA

Amanda has experience in running classes for employees in a corporate setting.


PRIVATE SESSIONS

One to one or small private groups by appointment.

Per 60 minute session:

2 people £42

Per 90 minute session:
1 person £50
2 people £54
3 people £57
4 people £60
5 people £65
6 people £72
Plus travel if necessary

CANCELLATIONS
if a session is cancelled less than 48 hours beforehand, the full amount will be due.

Where sessions have been agreed at a specific time on a regular, weekly basis then a retainer of half the cost of the session is payable up to 48 hours before the cancelled session, the full amount thereafter.


MENTAL HEALTH

Amanda has experience in teaching patients in mental health settings.
